What Sushi Should I Order If I Love Shrimp?
Direct answer: Order Shrimp Nigiri (ebi) for pure cooked shrimp, the Shrimp Tempura Roll for crispy tempura shrimp, the Crunchy or Damn Good rolls for tempura shrimp with rich sauces, or the Surfer Roll for shrimp dynamite with tuna. Almost every shrimp option at Sushi Brokers is fully cooked — available at all three Valley locations.
Shrimp Nigiri (Ebi)
The simplest shrimp order is Shrimp Nigiri — listed on the menu as Shrimp (Ebi), $11 for 2 pieces. Ebi is cooked, not raw: the shrimp is boiled and butterflied over seasoned rice. If you want shrimp in its most basic sushi form, this is it.
Because ebi is cooked, it is also one of the safest first nigiri orders for someone who has never eaten raw fish. See our beginner's guide for more approachable entries.
Shrimp Tempura Rolls
Tempura shrimp is the heart of Sushi Brokers' shrimp menu. These rolls put crispy tempura shrimp at the center, each with a different flavor profile:
Shrimp Tempura Roll
Cooked · $12Tempura shrimp, krab, avocado, cucumber. The most basic and most popular shrimp roll — crispy, familiar, no raw fish.
Crunchy Roll
Cooked · $19Tempura shrimp, spicy krab, cucumber, avocado, tempura flakes, eel sauce. Extra crunch on top.
Damn Good Roll
Cooked · $19Tempura shrimp, cream cheese, avocado, sweet chipotle sauce. Rich and mild — cream cheese balances the crunch.
Del Sol Roll
Cooked · $19Tempura shrimp, spicy krab, roasted jalapeños, asparagus, avocado, cilantro ranch. Shrimp with a southwestern finish.
Outlaw Roll
Raw · $17Tempura shrimp, spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, soy paper. Cooked shrimp with raw tuna — for mixed preferences.
Shrimp Dynamite and Spicy Shrimp
Beyond straight tempura, shrimp appears in a few rolls with bolder preparations:
- Surfer Roll ($21) — tuna, spicy krab, cucumber, avocado, shrimp dynamite, masago, scallions, eel sauce. Shrimp dynamite is a creamy, sauced shrimp preparation layered with raw tuna.
- Spicy Shrimp Roll ($12) — spicy shrimp, cucumber. A classic roll with a spicy shrimp mix.
- Pineapple Roll ($18) — spicy krab, asparagus, avocado, ebi (shrimp), pineapple, salsa, mirin. Shrimp with pineapple and salsa.
Shrimp Beyond Rolls
If you want shrimp outside of sushi, the kitchen menu has three shrimp dishes:
Tempura Shrimp & Veggies
Starter · $155 freshwater shrimp, onion ring, broccoli, sweet potato, savory dipping sauce. Tempura shrimp as a shareable starter.
Teppan Shrimp Bowl
Entree · $19Sauteed shrimp, onions, red bell peppers, chili sauce, udon noodles or steamed rice. A full shrimp entree.
Seafood Dynamite
Specialty · $25Shrimp, lobster, crab, onions, mushrooms, roasted inside a poblano pepper. Shrimp as part of a mixed seafood dish.
Good Shrimp Options If You Don't Want Raw Fish
Almost every shrimp item at Sushi Brokers is fully cooked — ebi nigiri is boiled, the tempura rolls are fried, and the kitchen dishes are sauteed or roasted. The only shrimp roll that includes raw fish is the Outlaw (raw tuna alongside the tempura shrimp) and the Surfer (raw tuna alongside shrimp dynamite).
If you are avoiding raw fish entirely, stick with the Shrimp Tempura Roll, Crunchy, Damn Good, Del Sol, Spicy Shrimp, or the kitchen dishes — and see our full cooked sushi guide. Browse the full menu or use the sushi menu guide for more.
